Aside- A bit of FYI

Pastel paintings are quite vibrant and full of color punch, unfortunately the digital world can not capture the total beauty and characteristics of this wonderful medium.

All oil painting have been created on either Italian painting panels or gesso 4 ply rag board, both surfaces are archival for longevity of the paintings.

About Me

Virginia L. Dauth: Rock Hill, SC, United States; I have been painting the US and occasional European landscape professionally for the past Fifteen years.I paint the landscape as I feel it connects us and grounds us offering everyone a sense of peace and contemplation. I received my BA, summa cum laude from Kennesaw State University with a focus in Fine Art.I am a member of excellence with The Southeastern Pastel Society and paint plein aire with the Georgia Outdoor Painters.It is my belief to truly understand light and the role it plays on color is to paint from life, on location. As you can tell I love to see the mark that pastels can make and how one can manipulate it which defines my style as expressive colorism. It is my sincerest hope that you will enjoy my painting as much as I have enjoyed creating them and that my images will recall a special time, place or feeling for you.

Art Information

All the art offered for sale has been created on archival grounds with the finest of professional grade pastels. Pastels are vibrant, luminous and highly saturated in color. A pastel painting is fine art and will last for hundreds of years without any residual change of color. This is due to the fact that soft pastels are pure pigments, ground color, with nothing added to ever alter or effect a change in the original colors.
